I could feel it there in the dark, just watching me. Like it did every night before this and most likely every night after this. It's eyes glittered in the dark reflecting the dim moonlight. Not making a move or even it's presence known, just watching. It drove me mad. Not the fear of what it would do but the anticipation. It hammered at my nerves, every second of it wearing away at me. It just had to end! I flung the blanket over my head and dashed at the closet which had become it's permanent home. I jammed my hand into the crack of the closet and opened it slowly. It stared back at me with empty, dead, cold eyes.
